Apply for the Global Study Centre and you’ll be given an offer (conditional or unconditional) that covers both the two semester Foundation and the full duration of your degree at the University of Leicester. .
When you apply for a Student Visa, you will be issued with one visa covering your full academic journey in Leicester.
Overview
The Foundation programme is the first stage of the undergraduate study route. The transition from high school to university is a big step, perhaps the most important in a student’s life. The Global Study Centre understands this, and will provide you with the guidance and support you need to progress seamlessly onto your degree.
A Foundation at the Global Study Centre is the perfect option for students who need to improve their skills and raise their academic level before progressing onto the first year of an undergraduate degree.
This two semester programme will help you build your knowledge of your chosen degree subject, as well as offering extra English language and wider academic support.
Upon successful completion, you will automatically progress onto the first year of your degree.

- Guaranteed entry into an undergraduate degree – even if you don’t initially have the qualifications you need to join your chosen undergraduate degree, you are guaranteed entry after successfully completing your chosen Foundation. You will be issued one offer letter, combining your Foundation and the three years of your undergraduate degree.
- Flexible entry points – the Global Study Centre offers intakes in both January and September, allowing you to start your studies at a time that best suits you and your academic plans.
